Apple might be converting to Face ID for all devices in 2018

Apple iPhone 8 Sales

It's been almost a month since Apple officially launched its latest lineup of premium smartphones - the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and all-new top-of-the-line flagship iPhone X.

Also under the TrueDepth Camera System, the clever depth sensing technologies used on the Face ID of the iPhone X also doubles for a fun new feature called Animoji.

However, the iPhone X isn't out yet and Apple hasn't yet received feedback from users on the new security feature. This way, Apple will be able to build a new ecosystem for iOS users.

The iPhone X isn't available for pre-order until closer to the end of this month.

The analyst says the manufacturing problems will be solved in the fourth quarter, which will allow Apple to ship more iPhone X units next year. Beginning of 2018, the inside is predicting that all future iPhones will completely ditch the TouchID and use Face ID, which means soon iPhones will not have a home screen button soon.

"We expect Apple's major promotion of facial recognition related applications will encourage the Android camp to also dedicate more resources to developing hardware and facial recognition applications", Kuo wrote.

The Apple fans would be relieved to know that the company is aware of the issue."We are aware and are looking into it", an Apple spokesperson told MacRumors.

These advanced depth-sensing technology seamlessly work together to securely unlock the iPhone X, make payment via Apple Pay, securely gain access to secured apps and many more advanced and new features. So while some analysts have pointed to weak iPhone 8 sales as a sign of weakness, Kuo maintains that overall iPhone 8 demand is where it should be given the looming launch of the iPhone X. But once the iPhone X manufacturing issues are resolved, the phone's sales will likely to pick up in the first half of 2018.
