Sheila Keen Warren Florida Virginia

According to NBC News, Keen is accused of gunning down Marlene Warren, the ex-wife of Keen's current husband, in May 1990.

Twenty-seven years ago a clown walked up to the front door of Marlene Warren's Wellington, Florida house and fatally shot her.

Sheila Keen Warren, 54, was arrested without incident on a charge of first-degree murder with use of a firearm in the 1990 killing of Marlene Warren, 40, in Washington County, Virginia.

The arrest comes 27 years after Keen Warren allegedly put on an orange wig and white face paint and headed to Marlene Warren's Wellington home with flowers, two balloons and a gun, the Sun-Sentinel reports.

'The person dressed as the clown was carrying a flower arrangement and two balloons.

According to the Post, Michael and Sheila had been suspected by friends and family of having an affair before Marlene's murder, which they denied to investigators.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Unit reopened the investigation into Marlene Warren's murder in 2014.

Cops learned four months after the shooting he was having an affair with another woman - Sheila Keen Warren. The couple was said to have moved to Tennessee, according to the Washington Post.

Police have not said whether Mr Warren was involved in his former wife's death and it is not clear whether Mrs Keen Warren contests the allegations.

Investigators looked at both as suspects in Marlene Warren's killing, and the circumstantial evidence piled up.

It was unknown if Sheila Keen Warren has an attorney. She died two days later.

The probe did lead to legal trouble for Michael Warren.

Aherns called 911 and also attempted to look for the white Chrysler convertible but in vain.

In 1992, he was sentenced to prison on 43 counts of odometer tampering, grand theft and racketeering after digging done by investigators for the murder showed foul play at his vehicle rental agency, according to The Palm Beach Post at the time.

At the time of her shooting, Warren had a 21-year-old son, Joseph Ahrens, from her first marriage.

Yet there was no probable cause, and the case went cold.
