Man City were on brink of signing Alexis, claims Bravo

After reports of him joining Manchester City Alexis Sanchez looks to be staying at Arsenal

Pep Guardiola does not yet know if Manchester City will revive their attempts to sign Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester City were keen on a swap deal for Gunners' forward Alexis Sanchez and it was reported that Sterling was open to the idea of moving back to London.

Sanchez returned to a mixed reception from the Emirates Stadium crowd after coming off the bench in Saturday's 3-0 win over Bournemouth, and Bravo is hopeful City will return for his worldwide colleague in January.

The City boss is adamant that Sterling still has a big part to play for the club moving forward but Sterling was reportedly excited at the prospect of moving to Arsenal to secure more time on the pitch.

"When we started to speak with Arsenal in the last days [of the transfer window], because before it was not possible, they wanted to make a swap with Raz [Sterling]", Guardiola said. We would have loved to have him here, but the market gives you these time limits and the rush is not good.

Stacy Lewis secures emotional victory in Portland
Jutanugarn matched the fast start by Lewis, also registering birdies on five of the first eight holes in her round of 66. There have been two Solheim Cup victories for Team USA and Stacy Lewis has figured prominently in both wins.

"Of course we were interested in him, but Arsenal decided not to sell him, so I wish Alexis all the best".

Sanchez, whose Gunners contract runs out in the summer, had been tipped to leave the Emirates all summer - but was forced to stay as the North Londoners failed to agree a deal for a replacement.

"You go from being on the bench watching the game and within seconds you are out there playing".

"I don't know what's going to happen in the wintertime or next season", said Guardiola, whose side face Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

"These things are avoidable, you can easily avoid putting your foot in somebody's face so you don't do them damage". "We are all very happy for the win".
