Hillary Blames "Millions of White People" for Losing Election

Names and faces

This week, Clinton is scheduled to appear on ABC's "The View" and the popular center-left podcast "Pod Save America", and she will attend a book signing in NY.

The former Democratic nominee reflects on her shocking loss to President Trump in the 2016 campaign, and ultimately takes responsibility for the loss.

According to Clinton, Sanders did "lasting damage" to her general election campaign, "paving the way" for some of Trump's most successful attacks against her in the general.

However, she points to outsides factors that she said played a role in her loss, such as alleged Russian election meddling and the federal probe into her private email server.

Clinton expressed some regrets, including what she described as a failure to appeal to the outrage of the American worker.

Clinton also told Pauley about election night and what she did when it became apparent she wasn't going to win.

She retreated and hoped this nightmare scenario would pass: "I just kind of went in the bedroom, laid down on the bed, just thought, 'Okay". She says her comment about putting coal miners out of business is the mistake she regrets the most.

"You know, he said, Clinton ended up being the biggest bully of them all".

"But you offended some people who didn't personally feel deplorable at all", Pauley continued.

Speaking to CBS, she added: "And so there I was, on the platform, you know, feeling like an out-of-body experience".

Trump, she acknowledged, was an expert at tapping into the anger and frustration that pulsed through the American electorate in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2007 and 2008. "Honestly, I wish she'd just shut the fuck up and go away". "And I should've done a better job of saying, 'I get it'".

President George W. Bush, who was standing on the podium alongside Clinton, had reportedly called the inauguration 'some weird s**t'.

"President Trump was behaving in a deplorable manner", she said, citing the "Access Hollywood" tape as an example. It did not matter to them, ' Clinton said. "There were a large number of people who didn't care". 'And he turned out to be a very effective reality TV star'.

"I don't know quite what audience he was playing to", Clinton remarked. "I am not done with politics because I literally believe that our country is at stake", she said.

Pauley seemed to share some of Clinton's resentment for those who voted against her.
