The poll found USA voters were more pleased with the way Trump is handling the economy, with 50 percent approval, but foreign affairs were negative areas for Trump with 53 percent disapproval for how the North Korea situation is being handled.

The new Washington Post-ABC News poll found that, while a majority of Americans disapproved of Trump's response to the events in Charlottesville and believe it is unacceptable to hold neo-Nazi or white-supremacist ideologies, 9% said they "somewhat" or "strongly" believed such views were acceptable.

"For the most part, honestly, these are really, really dishonest people", Trump said. About two in 10 of them (18%) say Trump encouraged them.

Sixty-eight percent of voters think Trump's words/actions could cause an "international conflict", while 29 percent disagree.

More than half of voters, 55%, said that there is too much prejudice in American society, while 40% said there is too much "political correctness".

A majority of Americans agree that President Trump could inadvertently engage the United States in an global conflict due to his rhetoric, according to a new survey released by the George Washington University Battleground Poll. Twenty-nine percent, however, disagreed with this statement. And 3% of American voters said they "haven't heard enough" about Trump to say if they have a favorable or unfavorable view him.

The poll surveyed 1,009 registered voters nationwide from August 13-17, and it had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
