David Mueller being sued by Taylor Swift over 'groping allegations'

Taylor Swift's defense team digs into former DJ in cross-examination to kick off trial

Follow along below for live updates throughout the day.

Because of Mueller's actions, attorneys will be permitted to ask him questions about the contents of the tape and the jury can factor Mueller's destruction of evidence into their final decision.

Taylor Swift's mother wiped away tears in court on Tuesday (08Aug17) as the singer's attorney took aim at a Colorado DJ accused of groping the pop superstar. Swift says there is no doubt Mueller grabbed her "bare bottom".

Swift, one of the most successful contemporary music artists, earned $170 million between June 2015 and June 2016, following a world tour and her best-selling "1989" album, Forbes Magazine said.

He also claimed Swift had reacted immediately following her backstage encounter with Mueller, telling a member of her team, "Dude, that guy just grabbed my a**" - something she will testify about during the trial.

Throughout Mueller's testimony on Wednesday, Swift listened attentively with her hands clasped in her lap.

"Mueller has been hurt and wants his good name back and he wants to be fairly compensated for income he lost and ability to earn income in the future", continued McFarland.

Baldridge brings up other photos from that night with Swift and other fans.

Mueller's attorney told jurors that inappropriate touching is wrong, but falsely accusing someone of the offence is equally unacceptable.

"Is it possible someone could see your photo with Ms". Swift countersued shortly thereafter, accusing Mueller of sexual assault and battery. He was kicked out of the concert and told he was banned for life from Taylor Swift shows, he said.

Swift said, "It was not an accident".

Baldridge then referred to Mueller's testimony in a sworn deposition in which he said that firing had hurt him, saying, "I can't imagine it didn't". "I do know that, sir", Mueller said.

Trump names Gen. John Kelly as chief of staff, Priebus out
On Kelly's appointment, Priebus said: "I think General ( John) Kelly is a brilliant pick". " John Kelly is a great American". Trump made the announcement on Twitter just after landing on Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington.

Baldridge then goes into the drink Mueller's girlfriend, Melcher, got him.

- Greg Dent, Swift's bodyguard, was standing a few feet away during the photo op.

Her lawyers have called the photo "damning" proof that Mueller groped her. On June 2013 when Taylor Swift had a show at the Pepsi Center, Mueller had been invited to a meet-and-greet, where he apparently touched her inappropriately.

During cross-examination, Baldridge again accused Mueller of trying to get rich off of Swift.

Swift says she will donate any money she receives to charities.

John Mayer plays at Red Rocks (however, this photo dates to 2010, not the 2013 concert Mueller would have attended).

"She reacted, pushed her skirt down and jumped to the side", Baldridge said.

"[Swift] put her right arm around Shannon, pulled her towards her, and turned toward the photographer", Mueller said. The Minneapolis station fired him because they were dissatisfied that he continued to work at a business he formed called 9 Ball Radio, which provided content to radio stations. Microphones in the court are turned off during these conferences, so it's unclear what is being discussed.

Jury selection in the Taylor Swift civil case involving a groping claim has ended for the day and will resume Tuesday.

Swift, her mother and Bell are expected to testify.

Mueller acknowledges that all of these things were said in prior depositions. The attorneys are now at the bench.

The court public information officer just came back into the press room and told reporters that court will be back in session at 10:30 a.m. - in 20 minutes. But unlike a lot of celebrity courtrooms, this one is closed to the media.
