Taylor Swift Expected to Testify in Groping Case Against Former Radio DJ

Celebrity Breakups

Jury selection began Monday in the civil trial involving musician Taylor Swift and a former KYGO DJ who is accused of groping her.

The jury selection for Taylor Swift v. former DJ David Mueller begins today.

The host, David Mueller, has sued Swift, saying her accusation that he groped her during a meet-and-greet in 2013 is false and interfered with with his business.

Mueller says he was sacked after Bell told KYGO general manager Bob Call that Swift and her parents were "looking for specific action" to be taken by the station. Swift did not go to the police, despite Mueller's request, because she wanted to keep the alleged incident "discreet and quiet and confidential", her attorney Douglas Baldridge argued in court, the AP reports.

He is seeking at least $3 million in damages.

A lot of people have taken to calling this case the Taylor Swift "butt grabbing trial", for some reason distinguishing the type of sexual assault as if you need to know anything beyond the fact that it's sexual assault.

Musician Taylor Swift performs onstage during the 2017 DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night Concert at Club Nomadic on February 4, 2017 in Houston, Texas. "Swift while posing for the photograph; he lifted her skirt and groped her". Swift might appear. The presiding judge, William J. Martínez, has warned anyone who hopes to attend to refrain from wearing clothing "bearing the name or likeness of any of the parties". The pair met Swift during a backstage meet and greet. TMZ published the photo in question last November.

Samajwadi Party MLCs resigns from party
The Opposition leaders seemed to be in a total state of confusion following the sudden exodus of their legislators and leaders. Shivpal Yadav reached Delhi on Saturday and is expected to hold parlyes with his elder brother Mulayam Singh Yadav .

Swift and her mother Andrea will both take to the stand during the trial, as will Mueller and Shannon Melcher - his co-host on the day of the alleged assault and his girlfriend at the time.

"It was not an accident, it was completely intentional, and I have never been so sure of anything in my life", Swift said in a deposition. Other than that, it's basically his word against hers.

- Greg Dent, Swift's bodyguard, may be called to testify about what he saw during the encounter. Mueller was sacked the day after the conversation.

Mueller also accused his boss, Eddie Haskell, of being the one who had touched the singer inappropriately.

Her lawyers have asked Lorraine Bayard de Volo, an associate professor of women and gender studies at the University of Colorado, to testify as an expert witness about how women typically react when they are sexually assaulted or harassed.

Swift fans can technically be allowed in the courtroom, as 32 seats are designated for members of the public - not media - and 75 seats will be made available in the public overflow location in the courthouse. Swift says she will donate any money she receives to charities.
