United Kingdom model 'kidnapped in Milan in bid to auction her off online'

A British model was kidnapped and held captive in Italy for six days, police have said, by a man who reportedly meant to auction her on the dark web.

A British model was abducted in Milan and put up for auction online after being lured to a sham photoshoot.

Police said the woman had come to Milan for a photo shoot, apparently a fake setup, and was abducted on 11 July.

A 30-year-old Polish man, said to be a resident in Britain, was arrested on July 18 on suspicion of kidnap and extortion, state police said.

Her kidnapper, described as a British-Polish man, held her captive for seven days while he sought to "auction" her through networks on the "deep web" of the internet with a starting price of €300,000, police confirmed.

Corriere della Serra said the suspect discovered the model had a young child and considered her unsuitable for sex trafficking.

In a letter sent to the victim upon her release, Black Death told her that a "mistake" had been made in capturing her.

As she was released on July 17th, her captor told her: "Our rules exclude mothers".
