Is National Security Adviser McMaster on Thin Ice at the White House?

Reports suggest that Mc Master wants to axe anyone involved with a controversial memo claiming that the “deep state” is engaged in a Maoist-style insurgency against the Trump administration

In a statement to CBS News on Friday, the president said, "General McMaster and I are working very well together".

Sources say the Trump staffers fired by McMaster had repeatedly crossed their boss on issues such as U.S involvement in Syria and Afghanistan, President Obama's Iran deal, the Paris Climate Accord and the threat of radical Islam. McMaster tried to fire Cohen-Watnick earlier this year but was stymied by Bannon and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who came to his defense.

It's little surprise, then, that conservatives and Russian bots have taken notice of McMaster's latest moves. However, for those who have consecrated themselves to the priestly rites of Donald Trump's cult of personality, McMaster's staffing changes constitute nothing short of blasphemy. "It doesn't work unless we are there for a long time, and if we don't have the appetite to be there a long time, we should just leave".

In February McMaster was said to have told his staff he is not fond of the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" and told them not to use it in the office.

According to Lake, documents showing that Rice made the unmasking requests were uncovered by the NSC's former senior director for intelligence, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, who was sacked by McMaster on Wednesday.

Nearly one month after Lake broke that story, McMaster appears to have sent a letter to Rice informing her that she could maintain her security clearance, according to the conservative news outlet Circa, which obtained a copy of the letter. The Times reported that the hashtag had been tweeted at least 50,000 times since Wednesday.

"I call the president the two-minute man", a Trump confidant told the Post, a terrifying but not entirely surprising revelation about the leader of the free world.

There are new questions about the future of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, as President Donald Trump is reportedly growing more frustrated with the lack of progress in Afghanistan. McMaster "sent an official letter giving Susan Rice unfettered and continuing access to classified information and waiving her "need-to-know" requirement on anything she viewed or received during her tenure", Circa confirmed.

Glick claims that during Trump's visit to Israel, McMaster "pressured Trump to agree not to let Netanyahu accompany him to the Western Wall".

Colonel Derek Harvey, who McMaster dismissed in July, was, according to Mark Levin's Conservative Review, "involved in President Trump's efforts to rid the National Security Council of Obama holdovers, who were suspected of leaking national security secrets to the press".

The Times reported that Trump and McMaster have not always had good chemistry, given their different briefing styles and preferences.
