J&K 2 militants gunned down by Indian Army in Pulwama encounter underway

PRO Defence Col Rajesh Kalia while confirming the death of two militants in the encounter said the search operation in the area was in progress.

Two militants were killed early on Sunday in an encounter between security forces and militants in Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The youth were killed by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in the area. Indian troops reportedly fired at the protesting crowd to disperse them.

One SLR and one INSAS rifle have been recovered, according to ANI. The slain militants have been identified as Shakir Ahmad R/O: Gulzar Pora Pulwama and Shabir Ahmad of Mahend, Bijhbahara area of district Anantnag.

Security forces have cleared the area and a counter-operation is now underway. "The operation is on", said the police. It was not immediately cleared that encounter was in a house or in open.
