Knife-wielding man attacks people at store in Hamburg, Germany

One dead and several injured by knifeman in busy Hamburg supermarket

A man armed with a knife attacked people at a Hamburg supermarket immediately killing one and injuring many, police reports claimed.

According to Telegraph UK, the man ran into a supermarket in the neighbourhood of Barmbek and started attacking customers with a knife at around 3 am local time.

Police said there was definitely only one attacker.

Germany is on high alert following a series of terror attacks in the country past year. Witnesses followed him and alerted police, who arrested him. They said on Twitter that they don't have information on the assailant's motive or on the exact number of victims.
