A woman was killed and eight others wounded after all nine people who had gathered for a party where a pregnant woman was to reveal her child's gender became victims of a mass shooting in Ohio.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in Colerain Township near Cincinnati.

"Two guys just came in and shot people in the house", a witness told the police dispatcher, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Officials said three children are being treated at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center. First responders found one woman dead inside a small home and soon located eight surviving victims.

A gender reveal party, where family and friends learn the gender of an expectant mother's baby, was hosted in the home Saturday night, investigators said. After shooting, they fled the scene. They've not been identified by Colerain Township police; two cars were towed from the scene, but FOX19 says police are still establishing a motive and pursuing leads.

"You're hoping that there won't be situations like this", Love said.
