Federer beats Alexander Zverev 6-1, 6-3 for 9th Halle title

Getting closer to his ninth title at the Halle grass court tournament, Swiss marvel Roger Federer on Saturday defeated Russian opponent Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals at Gerry Weber Stadion in Germany.

Federer, who skipped the clay-court season after winning the Miami Open in early April, claimed his fourth title of the year, matching Rafael Nadal's tally, and he will be seeded ahead of his Spanish rival for Wimbledon, which starts in eight days.

This is set to be a really interesting match as it is between two players are at two very different stages of their career.

Federer made a strong statement before the Championships at the All England Club, which begin on 3 July, with an imperious display against the world number 12.

The top seed lost his first match of the grass-court season last week in Stuttgart to Tommy Haas, but was in imperious form all week in Germany, culminating in the 6-1 6-3 victory over the home favourite Zverev.

She will play the unseeded Ashleigh Barty in the final today, after the 21-year-old Australian upset sixth seed Garbine Muguruza, the former French Open champion, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the other semi-final yesterday.

Republicans demonstrate hypocrisy over health care legislation
Doctors and hospitals, on the other hand, could face a surge in uninsured patients if millions fewer Americans have health coverage.

"It was perhaps not always very attractive to watch, but it's good to be in the final in the second tournament after my return", the Swiss said afterwards.

Federer is into his 11th Halle final and he'll seek a ninth title.

There was hardly an area of the game Federer did not dominate for extended periods, although the rallies rarely went longer than a few shots.

He has not dropped a set along his way to the finals and also defeated Zverev's older brother Mischa to make this far into the tournament.

"I'm not sure if I am going to win this tournament again so I want to enjoy it as much as I can", Federer said.

"I thought it was extremely close, especially that second set". The Swiss then fended off set points at 5-6 before closing out the match in a breaker. Kvitova responded immediately as she blasted back from 40-0 down to reel off a series of winners and once again take control of the set.
