London police report 'incident' on London Bridge

Police officers on Borough High Street as police are dealing with

The mayhem began just after 10 p.m. (2100GMT), when police responded to reports of a vehicle hitting pedestrians on London Bridge, which crosses the River Thames in central London.

This incident comes just days before Britain's general election on June 8, and less than two weeks after a suicide bombing in Manchester killed 22 people, including children, and injured more than 100.

Another witness, who gave his name as Alessandro, told BBC Radio that he saw a van strike several people on London Bridge.

"As well as #LondonBridge officers have also responded to an incident in #BoroughMarket".

Police have also responded to an incident in the Vauxhall area.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said authorities were dealing with a "terrible incident" and London's Metropolitan Police Service said incidents at London Bridge and nearby Borough Market were being treated as terrorism. "Armed officers responded and shots have been fired".

"We have armed police at the scenes", London's Metropolitan Police tweeted.

May said that "following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the awful incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism".

A few minutes later Trump tweeted a message of support for Londoners: "Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U".

"A table was thrown, a bottle was thrown at the individual with the knife and then we heard three gunshots and we ran", he added. People were warned to avoid the area while emergency vehicles attended to the incidents which police described as "ongoing".

"She told me in French, "I don't know where those two other people are".

Mourinho's final press conference lasts just 11 seconds
In soccer terms, another season in the energy-sapping Europa League is hardly ideal if United plans a genuine shot at the Premier League title.

Vinny called LBC to say: "I was approaching London Bridge from Elephant and Castle and I saw police everywhere and people lying down on the floor".

The BBC said one person was confirmed dead.

"We can confirm we have taken at least 20 patients to six hospitals across London following the incident at London Bridge".

"He swerved right round me and then hit about five or six people", Jones said.

Witnesses report several people being treated on the footpath outside the market and police quickly evacuated the area, with some people walking away with their hands on their heads.

A cab driver said he saw three men with "twelve inch" blades get out of the van after the crash and start "stabbing people at random" on Borough High Street.

Pence also tweeted, "Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims, courageous first responders & all the people of London".

"A police officer was trying to put himself between them and the crowd". Five people were killed, including the attacker, and at least 40 people were injured.

Tony Murphy, who lives near the area, told Sky News he heard the sound of gunfire.

After ramming the auto into a barrier outside the Houses of Parliament, the driver got out and stabbed a police officer to death.
