SpaceX will take a little break from recycling when it launches a European satellite Monday afternoon.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 lifted off Monday evening carrying a "behemoth" communications satellite from Kennedy Space Center, WKMG reports.

Instead, the first stage separated from rocket and fell back to Earth around 2:50 after launch - that's the stage that SpaceX has successfully reused - and the second stage went on alone to carry the satellite to its destination. The satellite that's going up tonight will join three additional I-5 probes already in orbit, making up the Global Xpress constellation for Inmarsat.

Weighing in at almost 13,500 pounds atop the rocket, the fourth Inmarsat-5 satellite will be the heaviest load lofted by a Falcon 9 yet, News 6 partner Florida Today reported. If any, it proved that the Falcon 9, despite being pushed to its limits, is capable for delivering its payload to space in a safe and satisfactory manner.

The integrated Falcon 9/Inmarsat-5 F4 were rolled out to the KSC launch pad on Sunday to begin final preparations and were erected at the pad this morning for Monday's liftoff. "In maritime, our system is actually integrated".

As Science Times points out, Musk and his team have had much to celebrate over the last 15 years, largely due to the projected growth of the space flight industry and the role that SpaceX is set to play in this revolution. However, since the company has not brought those into commercial flights yet, it made a decision to go with a regular Falcon. The company has not disclosed whether it will make another experimental attempt to recover the rocket's payload fairing. Barring any significant setbacks, SpaceX could be looking at its best year ever, with up to 24 launches in 2017. The payload is too heavy. The first unpiloted test flight of SpaceX's Dragon crew ship is expected next March.
