Nintendo Announces First DLC Pack For Breath Of The Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have two DLC packs, with the first dropping sometime during northern summer.

The Master Trails and the now untitled DLC are available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U for $20 United States dollars. The second, which contains a new story chapter, is coming out during holiday 2017, but it does not have a name yet.

Included as part of the expansion pass that's available for the title, no indication has yet been given as to whether the pack will be available to buy on its own but it's hard to imagine it won't be. The first pack of downloadable content will add the Trial of the Sword and a challenging new Hard Mode to the game, as well as other fun and useful features.

The vastness of Hyrule is clearly one of the best features of the game, giving you the surprise of new hidden spots even after tens of hours exploring the map. Only one travel point can be set at a time, but you can fast travel there as many times as you want. The trial of the sword is a new challenge that will start Link off with no equipment as he tries to fight through around 45 challenging waves of enemies using everything at his disposal, but as a reward will unlock the true power of the Master Sword.

The latter is essentially a horde mode where Link will face off against increasingly hard waves of enemies.

The Grand Finale has been created to prevent the spacecraft from contaminating the potentially habitable Saturnian moons. But the craft has, this week, sent back a lovely new picture of the Earth, glimpsed through Saturn's rings.

Perhaps most importantly, you'll be getting a bunch of neat cosmetic items that let Link don iconic pieces of Zelda equipment such as Majora's Mask, Midna's helmet and the Phantom Armor. Links will have to try and reach these planks to get access to more treasure chests and to battle more enemies. It looks like enemies and treasure chests will also be present in the sky for you to hunt down, adding more excellent aerial combat into the Breath of the Wild. Link can then transport himself to that point at any time. However, players are only allowed to register one travel point at a time.

Somewhere in the world, there is a chest with a Travel Medallion inside. Dubbed The Master Trials, the DLC will arrive this summer with a wealth of new content as outlined below.

Nintendo announced what players can expect in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's first DLC pack - The Master Trials. Another bit of clothing, dubbed the Korok Mask, alerts you to nearby Korok locations.

New Equipment There will be eight new pieces of equipment inspired by previous characters and games in the franchise.

There will also be the introduction of Hard Mode, a new Travel Medallion, more armor options, and also a new Korok Mask.
