Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer's Stake Worth $186 Million Ahead of Verizon Sale

Marissa Mayer will walk away from Yahoo with $186 million

Her Yahoo stock, stock options and restricted stock units are worth a total of $186 million, based on Monday's stock price of $48.15, according to data filed Monday in the documents sent to shareholders about the Verizon deal.

For Ms. Mayer, that includes stock options valued at more than $85 million and Yahoo shares valued at almost $77 million at Tuesday's closing share price of $48.40, according to the information in the filing.

But the filing also served as an eye-popping reminder of the hefty stock compensation its CEO, Marissa Mayer, has amassed during her tumultuous tenure at the faded Internet pioneer. Yahoo's shareholders are mostly expected to vote in favor of the buyout of the company's core assets, through a voting process scheduled for June 8.

Yahoo has suffered missteps, including fallout from hackers who previous year compromised a billion of its user accounts. The revelation of this data breach resulted in YHOO renegotiating its deal with Verizon Communications Inc. and lowering its price by $350 million, reports CNBC.

When will Nokia 3310, Nokia 6 and others launch in India?
Nokia 3310, which some would call the world's favourite phone, will be available later this month in some European markets. There's a 1200 mAh battery under the hood, which is ready to give 22 hours of talk time and 30 days of standby time.

That compensation, which will be fully vested at the time of the shareholder vote, does not include her salary and bonuses over the past five years, or the value of other stock that Mayer has already sold.

With that having been said the CEO's payout consists of Yahoo stock, stock options and restricted stock units.

Most of Mayer's payout is based on the 208 percent increase in Yahoo's stock price since she joined the company in 2012. Mayer admitted that year the company had only started investing in mobile in 2013 and was "late" and "behind". Mayer also voluntarily gave up her 2017 bonus and equity grants. Yahoo only notified 26 account holders of the breach at that time. Neither Mayer nor top Yahoo execs will be a part of this new firm should the Verizon deal continue unabated.

Separate from Mayer's stock holdings, under the previously disclosed severance agreement with Yahoo she would receive $3 million in cash and is eligible for $15,000 worth of outplacement services if she is terminated or leaves for good cause following the Verizon sale. This means that when the deal will be finalized, Mayer will no longer remain with Yahoo.
