Activision Sending New Call of Duty Back to WWII

Everything you need to know about Call of Duty WWII the 2017 Call of Duty game

Unlike those titles, however, Call of Duty: World War II is in development at Sledgehammer Games, taking point once more after helming 2014's Advanced Warfare.

Even though the Call of Duty: WWII release date is months away, we already know a lot about the new 2017 Call of Duty game thanks to Activision's announcement. Hence, we're rather stoked to see what Sledgehammer games has in store for the upcoming Call of Duty WWII.

Call of Duty is returning to its roots as a World War II game. The reason Activision reverted to its roots was due to the lack of appeal that the sci-fi settings of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" had with fans, according to Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg. The leak also teases "exciting new ways to interact and socialize with their friends and the Call of Duty community". "Classic" Call of Duty combat is being touted and Activision is promising the "definitive World War 2 campaign". A livestream is scheduled for April 26, which is expected to bring more information about the game, including details about the shooter.

We'll continue to update our readers as we receive more info. Call of Duty: WWII will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

A "Worldwide Reveal" has been promised and will take place on Wednesday 26 April at 6pm BST (7pm CET, 1pm EDT, 10am PDT). We'll be sure to keep you current with all the news and reveals surrounding this game here at COGconnected.
